Review of Paintball (2009) by Carl N — 06 Apr 2010
Although the setting of a paintball game is original. The plot has been used in countless films. Rich voyeurs watch as a people are hunted for sport. I really enjoyed the fact that you get to see most of the film from the POV of the hunter.
Also added is a really nice gimmick in which the hunter sees everything through heat sensitive/night vision goggles. Sadly Characterisation is zero. You know nothing about any of the characters. Apart from them being extremely annoying and stupid.
Some of the decisions they make are ludicrous even for a horror film. So it's near impossible to feel sorry for any of them. Kudos has to be given for some gory and imaginative death scenes. Also some damn fine action set pieces saves this from just another low budget yawn fest.
