Review of Onibaba (1964) by Pavandeep S — 30 Apr 2009
Wow, watching this really made my skin all wriggly. This is a horror film like no other, heavily leftist in tone and the horror and fear brings out the best of this political underpinnings. The wonderful thing about this film is that more than being any form of dogma, it actually visualizes society and its deplorable depravity, linking both the bourgeois and proletariat as bound by an animal instinct to go the next step, wither to feed oneself or enrich his present status.
