Review of New World (2013) by Mirza Mohd S — 10 Jun 2014
This Korean gangster thriller is way different from a traditional mafia based movie, instead of just people just shooting each other this film shows the ugly side through an emotional approach with humorous dialogues.
It has one of their top most actors Min-Sik Choi (Old Boy, I saw the devil) leading this huge star cast, who have provided exceptionally believable performances. There are very few movies which makes you jump from your seat, clap (even though you are watching it alone in your laptop), entertained, excited and happy.
I was lucky enough to go through all the above emotions on multiple levels while watching this. "New World" works smashingly, continuing in that fine South Korean tradition of great and gritty crime dramas.
