Review of Nashville (1975) by Chris H — 29 Apr 2004
It is of most cruical alarm that this film has only 20 counted reviews. A landmark film from an epic director, this could be his best. This film does not pander to an auidence or waste time with cliche.
It is life, simply and purely and our eyes go back and forth, like Altman's sweeping camera to view all the love tirangles, mini music videos and humor driven scenes. I love this film. There is so much to take in and Altman does not rush around in haste from story to story.
He gives them as much time as they deserve in order to prove his point. Isn't that kinda how people go in and out of our lives? People fill a purpose and then we forget about them. Nashville is underated and not discussed enough.
Big thumbs up!
