It is like a living Miyazaki film, a vacation into another world, from the perspective of a child.
I just realized, it's got a little of whatever A Christmas Story has - but in French. Odd, but true - it's the narration: grown man's voice recalling all sorts of details about his childhood while that childhood unfolds before you. Weird...
