Review of MURPH: The Protector (2013) by Susan H — 23 Mar 2013
Though I knew the story, hearing it from those closest to Lt. Murphy made it incredibly moving and brought it that much closer to my heart. As a mom with Navy kids myself, I felt every emotion Mrs. Murphy conveyed.
Surprisingly, I did not cry as much as I expected which I attribute to the fact that it was more pride and less dread that I was feeling; the world would be a much better place with a few more guys like Mike.
In my opinion, the only things that could have made the film better would have been a little more footage or photos from BUD/s to bring home the amount of work and dedication that a prospective SEAL goes through to show how much these guys want to do this, and if Marcus Luttrell had also been interviewed.
If I heard anything directly from him, I would have lost it for sure.God bless the Murphys and the other families like them who raise children with so much honor, courage, and commitment. All Frogs go to heaven.
