Review of Munich (2005) by Charlie S — 24 Aug 2010
One of Spielberg's finest film. It's an engaging picture about the Israeli government's secret retaliation attacks after the massacre of Israeli athletes by Black September militant group during the 1972 Summer Olympics. Engaging characters, a haunting score, and a fascinating storyline.
The main character Avner(Eric Bana) is the most interesting character to me because he is later seen as lost and disillusioned tormented with paranoid fears about his family, scary flashbacks of the Munich Massacre, questions of his morality in killing the assassins and in a scene fit of rage and paranoia, Avner barges into the Israeli consulate and screams at an employee whom he believes to be a Mossad agent to leave him and his family alone.
