What a daunting task to transform a beloved novel written in stream-of-consciousness style into a film! But the film works quite well, to the credit of the director as well as the admirable cast. Redgrave is the perfect Mrs.
Dalloway, and Natasha McElhone is luminous as the young Clarissa.
