Review of Meshes of the Afternoon (1943) by Kevin A — 06 Dec 2007
A work of American surrealism. The first part is perfect, and the influence on David Lynch seems clear. The second part is too in love with Maya Deren. Some of the imagery has been stolen for pop videos, which is a crying shame.
You'd never guess it was made in the 1943, except for the cut of the guy's trousers.
