Review of Mean Creek (2004) by Jason G — 17 Jun 2008
An excellent piece of film. im always impressed with the abilities of such young casts and mean creek delivers. culkin is the star his brother never was and josh peck displays an interesting sensitivity to a thoroughly hatable character in george but for me it is is scott mechlowicz who is the stand out as the damaged marty.
as the only "adult" of the film he provides an excellent foil for the younger characters to play off and his performance is excellent. add to this excellent photography and a superbly fitting score, this is one not to be missed.
