Very slow and tedious to begin with but picks up considerably as soon as Van Damme arrives in New York City. The story may be familiar to action movie fans but it keeps you interested and there are some nifty action scenes including several brutal car chases and even more brutal punch-ups.

The characters are hit and miss but as with the story and the film as a whole they do the trick.
