Review of Mad City (1997) by John C — 30 Dec 2007
A wonderfully acted tragedy about an average jo who lost his job at the museum due to cut backs and an arrogant manager. John Travolta plays the every day man who decides to conffonmt the manager at the museum and threaten her to get him his job back.
A reporter who was once a promsing reproter and is now nothing but a hack and has been arrives to the musem and decides to do a small piece of the place not knowing while he was in the washroom that a gun man came into the museum and is holding people hostage.
he sees an opportunity to make this his comback and convinces the network to grant him this story all the while manipulating at first tyhe average joe about making poeople sympathetic towads hims and making the average joe into a hero not knwoing in the end it wilkl hurt the man and destroy everything that he is.
It is about the savagery of the media and how far they will go to get their story no matter whom they hurt or what happens to the people.
