Review of Lucy (2014) by Random D — 16 Dec 2017
I love stories where normal people become really smart. Limitless. Flowers for Algernon. But this story goes a step further into ESP, telekinesis, etc. Lucy is a regular person that becomes a goddess in the space of a few days after unlocking all human potential. It's a completely unrealistic, but super fun what-if movie.
However, you can tell Professor Norman did more than his fare share of LSD back in the day. I mean, wow. His theories are waaaaay out there. Suspension of disbelief doesn't begin to cover it. But, to be fair, I don't believe anyone ever mentioned what his character was a Professor of. I'm thinking theoretical metaphysics or some shit like that. Because during his talk he didn't offer any proof, or even cite previous works. That part of the movie, really, is pretty unintentionally funny. But if you can get past it, it's a really entertaining movie.
