Review of Love & Pop (1998) by Julian V — 31 Jan 2008
I have always thought of myself as an open minded person but found many things in this movie to be disturbing. I saw it two days ago and thinking about parts of it still gives me goosebumps. There was lots of risk taking with the cinematography.
Some was painful and some was great. Like most movies that I have seen about Japan I felt like many uncomfortable aspects were glossed over or left out. I found myself wondering about issues of class and forced consent through peer pressure but didn't get any insight.
