Review of Lorna's Silence (2008) by Marina T — 20 Oct 2008
Ah, the quiet power of a Dardenne flick. There's hardship and despair, but there's always hope. It's in the small things. The offering of a cup of water. The throwing of a key into the night.
The folding of a pair of jeans. The gathering up of CDs and playing cards. The lighting of a fire. Humanness always wins. P.S. why the heck did the Italians translate this as "Il matrimonio di Lorna" when "Il silenzio di Lorna" would have done just fine?? A mystery, as always.
