Review of Lilo & Stitch (2002) by Daniel D — 31 Jul 2018
Disney, notoriously known for making the best childrenâ(TM)s movies has done it yet again; Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders have directed my all time favorite movie. Evil scientist, Jumba, creates an illegal experiment; basically an alien version of Superman, but evil, and his kryptonite being water.
The experiment is to go to prison, however he escapes and heads towards Earth, Hawaii to be exact. Jamba and Pleakley, an Earth expert go after him. He ends up being adopted as a dog by Lilo, a unique Hawaiian girl; and names the experiment, Stitch.
Despite the fact that this little monster causes destruction and havoc; she ends up growing closely attached to him. Liloâ(TM)s parents had passed away in a car accident, and Mr. Bubbles, a social worker, might take her from her teenage sister, Nani.
Liloâ(TM)s trying to teach Stitch how to lower his insanity levels, Stitch is struggling to avoid Jamba and Pleakley to stay with Lilo. All the while Naniâ(TM)s trying to find a job to keep Lilo. Watching this movie over the summer I caught onto many allusions, (a lot of Elvis Presley) that I hadnâ(TM)t noticed when I first watched it as a little kid in theaters.
Iâ(TM)d highly recommend renting the movie from Blockbuster, and having a family movie night. The only con Iâ(TM)d have to say about the movie is that the beginning is a little lengthy, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed Liloâ(TM)s sense of humor, and the different take on the usual Disney movie.
Children will laugh at the comedy, and parents will appreciate the message the movie portrays. â'Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.â?
