Review of Le Divorce (2003) by Livia I — 05 Mar 2004
I really loved the use of color in this movie. There's this one scene with Kate Hudson, and she has this huge golf umbrella that's all different colors, and I just loved the way they filmed the scenes with it.
The supporting actors were great and really nailed their roles. Stockard Channing and Sam Waterson were hilarious as the parents. Also loved Glenn Close in her role as Olivia Pace. And I always love Naomi Watts, and this film was no exception.
Kate Hudson was fine, but I didn't really pay her much mind. Film lost a bit of direction toward the end, and took an awkward plot twist. It went from light and airy to dark and solemn in a quick step and it felt very odd.
The ends were tied a bit too neatly for my taste, but overall, still loved it. Especially the way certain things, like the scarves, were incorporated from the book.
