Review of Lake of Fire (2006) by Chris W — 13 Mar 2008
Tony Kaye's epic, 18 years in the making film on the controversial topic of abortion may very well be one of the most important documentaries ever made, and certainly, alongside Michael Moore's Sicko, the most relevant to current issues.
It is an unbiased look at the those who are pro-life vs those who are pro-choice and all parties are given ample time to state their opinions and beliefs. Some have called it biased in that so many of the pro-lifers interviewed are Christian fundamentalists, who spout claims that all abortionists (in addition to homosexuals, blasphemers, etc) should be executed in the name of the Lord.
I find it hard to believe anyone who views this would support those sorts of claims, but that is really the subject another documentary, Jesus Camp, handles quite well.
