Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Helen B — 12 Feb 2011
Great. Loved it. Great story about how a woman Edith Piaf, born into poverty, in the early 1900s father off in WWI, mother left to fend in the streets. She beats the odds as a teen, finds a benefactor to help her sing, meet the right people, take lessons and gain fame on the stage.
She had many tragedies, but was able to overcome them. She lived to sing, and sung to live. It was a passionate life until her death around 1964, dying mainly of arthritis.
