A fascinating and exquisite movie. A 4-hour masterwork, beautifully realized by Jacques Rivette and his incredibly talented cast. Emmanuelle Beart, Michel Piccoli, and Jane Birkin are all wonderful. A completely engrossing, surprisingly well-paced film.
