Review of Irreversible (2002) by Nikki A — 08 Mar 2010
Fucking mind blowing, body shocking piece of filth, art and genius. Shows you what is possible in this world of film not only with the narrative structure, but the capabilities of technology, with camera angles and movements you couldn't have imagined before.
Such a sickly topic of a film, with a ten minute rape sequence you may feel the need to stop watching it, but like a shower, you will feel clean when it reaches the end, having pushed the boundaries of a modern film and not becoming one of those boring arthouse movies only pretentious people enjoy.
Flawless acting and some of the most visceral imagery that will leave you thinking about this film for a long time afterwards. I just stumbled across this film thing and I thought I'd talk about one of the greatest films ever.
