Review of In Darkness (2011) by Rubiene G — 19 Feb 2012
In Darkness is one of the most brutal and uncompromising Holocaust films, but it is absolutely worth seeing for its gritty cinematography and inspiring story. Sitting through this film was challenging, watching a reenactment of the suffering of my friends and my ancestors.
Agniescka Holland has crafted an Oscar-worthy film (she should be nominated for the Best Director award) that everyone should be required to see. Coming back home, I hugged my dog with tears in my eyes, thankful that I am safe and devastated that atrocities like this are still being committed.
