It had the heart but not exactly the originality. But where it fails mostly on a horror level, is that the scary moments don't exist because they happen in fast paced movements, and the "pain" doesn't hit us because it's done to characters that have lost all sense of emotion and nerves.
Had a lot of potential from a production aspect...it's unfortunate they wasted it.
