Review of Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel (2009) by Tara Z — 23 Aug 2010
I just saw this with my boyfriend. I'd like to say I'm a progressive woman who sees documentaries with her boyfriend about accused pornographers. Truth is I really wanted to see it. I knew Hef advocated civil rights but had no idea the lengths to which he did so.
My boyfriend said he knew everything the movie put out there; however, when I asked if he knew that Hefner used the Bunny plane to transport Vietnamese orphans during the war he admitted that was new to him.
The movie was narrated by Gene Simmons and there were appearances of many people he was and is still close to.
