Review of Hollywood Ending (2002) by Ben W — 05 Apr 2008
This is not woody allen at his best. but my question is...is that too much to expect from a filmmakler? to always be at the height of his art? especially when he makes an average of at least one film a year? especially for a filmmaker like allen we can expect to see no more than where he is in his own life at that moment.
there are so many out there who complain about his films not being what they used to be. I dont buy it. they are certainly not the same films recycled. they arent even as good as they used to be, but that comparison is unfair at best.
this film in particular is still funny, still interesting, and still worthy of being made.
