Review of Grand Canyon (1991) by John O — 15 Aug 2007
The best movie I saw this summer. Many people have compared this to crash, however they are completely different movies. This one is more about understanding what happens on a day to day basis in LA or in general, life.
My favorite part was when Danny Glover gave his speech about the Grand Canyon. We sit down while the Grand Canyon is continually forming. I believe it was a metaphor about other people's lives and how there's a barrier between the rich suburban lifestyle in LA versus the other one.
For example, the suburban mother didn't realize infants are just thrown in a hedge left to die, or the fact that we don't know the people who survived a drive by shooting. Whatever, I'm probably not making any sense because you didn't see the movie.
Go see it.
