Review of Good Kids (2016) by Grant W — 25 Apr 2017
This whole thing felt like one excuse to window-dress a film under the "high school kids who are socially inept and trying to be cool" genre/cliché just so it could squeeze as much sex as possible without much in the way of letting the audience relate with the characters. Then again, why should the audience be invested in the first place? The whole thing can be summed up by saying, "Plot scene - sex - plot scene - sex..." Rinse and repeat. Oh, I've loosely used the word "plot" for this context.
The poor writing, the unrealistic dialogue, the filler scenes, and boring (sometimes stupidly random) scenarios not only drag the film down to a crawl, but can also be borderline offensive to human races, sexes, and intellect.
Dumb teenage comedies can be done both smarter and less offensive than what this film has to offer. I can't recommend it.
