Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Richmond C — 08 Oct 2007
This is the most informationally DENSE movie I've ever seen. If you are familiar with the imagery, themes and philosophical/literary/scientific references made in this film then watching it is actually exhausting... and I love it for that. This film is ESPECIALLY great if you are into Cybernetic Theory as established by Norbert Weiner. If you don't believe me, PLEASE contact me and I can send you a pretty decent paper on it.
I can see why it's off putting and perhaps even "pretentious" to most, but if you look beyond the surface, there's an incredible depth to this film.
Also, it has some of the best drawing in the world in it. If you don't think so, then you probably can't draw very well.
