Review of Gandhi, My Father (2007) by Ananda P — 09 Aug 2007
Taking into consideration the amount of potential the story actually had, the film was a failure. it fails to stir you up. the story of harilal gandhi and his relationship with his father is greatly distorted because of the priorities they set in their lives and the differences in their outlook.
the burden of being the son of the father of the nation was too much for harilal to bear. the fallen expectations and other assorted failures create a grand stage for a sensitive and a powerfull film and "gandhi my father" isnt quite it.
