Review of Foxy Brown (1974) by Brad G — 21 Feb 2010
Probably the most recognizable Blaxploitation film of all time, Foxy Brown is a whole lotta woman! Pam Grier is in top form as the titular hero, bent on revenge after a local madam has her undercover boyfriend killed.
Katherine Wall as the local madam is froggy terrifying and I absolutely love her kept man Steve, played with delicious disgust by Peter Brown. Foxy Brown has several wonderful action set pieces; favorites being the â??Black Belt In Barstoolâ?? lesbian brawl, the White Trash Ranch fire house, and the Black Militia airplane assault.
Plus, youâ??ve got Sid Haigâ??s horny pilot and Antonio Fargasâ?? dopehead brother providing a few laughs. A classic. VF.
