Review of Forgotten Silver (1997) by Ricky G — 25 Feb 2010
The premise of this mockumentary is: at the turn of the century, there was a New Zealand filmmaker who actually created many important camera techniques (such as the first tracking shot) and world-changing inventions (such as the first airplane).
His work had gone unnoticed until Peter Jackson unearthed it. The fake footage is so well executed and the humor so subtle that the story is almost convincing. Unfortunately, that's all there is to it, kind of a one-note joke, not enough for me to finish watching.
Sorry!
