Review of Every Little Step (2008) by Yuchen Z — 30 Apr 2009
A documentary following actors auditioning for a Broadway play about actors auditioning for a Broadway play. The fascinating thing about the documentary is when they talk about the creation of the original A Chorus Line, though following the actors (and judging them) through the audition process was fun as well.
The film does a really good job of throwing you in the actors' shoes and all the stress and emotions going through an audition. The funniest part happens near the beginning with the camera watching the guy who prepares to read off the actors name's for callbacks.
"Are you Jewish? I have this name I can't pronounce." Priceless.
