Review of Epidemic (1987) by Conor M — 26 Jul 2008
An incredible, self-indulgent film. But Lars will have you know self-indulgence isn't always a bad thing. We are brought into his reality, and he wilfully exposes all of his fears, making himself vulnerable, yet forceful.
At times, the visuals are just so gloriously avant-garde, but the movie is occasionally tedious. Still, there are plenty of interesting ideas here to go around, and the polished product is near perfect.
Just don't look too far into it. Or rather, do.
