Review of Don't Look in the Basement (1973) by Adam M — 10 Feb 2011
So called "video nasty" from the 70's. A nurse begins work in a mental asylum straight after the death of its director and things quickly spiral out of control as the patients are allowed to run loose around the asylum, the rooms unlocked.
For a cheapie this isn't as bad as you might expect with 2 or 3 good performances and some ok direction from S.F. Brownrigg. Don't go in expecting a full on gory horror though, fuck knows why this was banned as theres only a few gory moments but they aren't even that detailed or brutal compared to other films that came out around the same time.
