Review of Diner (1982) by Trish C — 13 Nov 2007
Even though this is a "buddy" flick, the subject of childhood bonds transcends gender. Very much the jumping off point for 'Friends' etc. At the time of release, not many films delved into the psyhche of the post adolescent male as he came to terms with adulthood.
The final line of "we'll always have the diner" pays homage to the acceptance that in order to move into adulthood (marriage), one must remember the journey and those it was shared with.
