Review of Dead Birds (2005) by Mike T — 14 May 2007
A surprisingly good low budget american horror movie! One that isn't your run of the mill teen slasher flick (I am soooooo bored of that genre!!!) This movie builds suspense nicely, has the required scares & gore but never lets the plot go awol.
Its historical setting helps to prevent overblown theatrics & grounds it in a more realistic feel.
It relies on the feelings of isolation, distrust & fear to create the tension between its characters & piece by piece reveals a neat backstory.
Nothing new, nothing amazing but a fun little scary movie to watch.
