Review of Daydream Nation (2011) by Lee C — 04 Jun 2011
I can't believe people describe this as Juno-esque. Not that there's anything wrong with that movie, but it seems like a very inaccurate description to me. I'm Japanese, and it reminds me of a foreign (ie.
NOT American) style of story-telling, where there are tangents and dangling ends, fantasy mixes with reality, and everything serves a poetic purpose. Also Reece Thompson was especially good as a guy who keeps making bad choices despite his best intentions.
