Review of Coonskin (1975) by Betty T — 08 Nov 2007
Transgressive, dangerous, "anti Song of the South" many folks never saw, yet an important lens on race and culture that challenges and rewards while preserving key folklore traditions in a surprising reverential way.
Nearly every sensibility will be offended on the surface but provoked into thinking once the mind is opened. They could never make this kind of film today.
