Review of Cookie's Fortune (1999) by Justina T — 31 May 2011
Super cooky, and by that I mean crazy.
The actors do a good job of acting like a very dysfunctional family. Close's Camille was certifiable and causes all the mischief to begin with. Moore's Cora is a dreamy ditz who spends most of her life being bossed around by her sister, Camille. Add to that a basically good guy Dutton, a sweet Liv Tyler, a vapid but earnest Chris O'Donnell, and a few others, you've got a cast that will make your head spin... in a good way.
This movie's definitely one of those ones you probably have to watch when you're not in the mood for anything serious. It's cute in it's strange-ness, but also strangely worth it.
