Captive has a good cast. Kate Mara and David Oyelowo are good actors, and are good in their roles. They also have nice chemistry. But this movie is not good at all. The movie has no real drama to it. It feels vey boring.
The story is really stretched out. The script isn't good. The dialogue is pretty weak. I also wasn't a fan of the direction. There was a couple of moments with too much shaky cam. The movie is very slow and as previously stated, boring.
You don't get invested in these characters as you should. Oyelowo's character feels like a villain. There is no redemption value for him, even high there is supposed to be. Overall, this movie just feels like a commercial for a book.
