Review of Buffet Froid (1979) by Fatchi D — 28 Apr 2008
One of the best French films ever. Blier, Carmet and a young Depardieu rampage around urban and rural France in a mad swirl of murder and general silliness. The dialogue is of the highest quality, fast-paced, incisive, and supremely funny.
Most entertaining and yet a premonition of things to come in the now delapidated urban ghettos that France was building at the time. Strongly recommended viewing.
