Review of Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2009) by Aj S — 18 Jun 2010
80 minutes of just spewing the monologues of David Foster Wallace's book. It's hard to adapt a book like that in story form. When doing so, the movie seems to be all over the place, it's on the brink of non-coherent non-linear story structure, and that's where the frustration in this movie lies.
I can see what first time director, John Krasinski, was trying to do, but I just think this is too much of material to handle to make into your first feature film. That said, I still think the collection of actors participating in this film were excellent, and also quite amusing.
