Review of Brick (2006) by Seann T — 06 May 2011
This is a great teen/crime film noir that masterfully describes the underground world of a sleepy beach town. The acting is surprisingly good and there is not one out of place character. The 50's slang is a little confusing at times and the story is complex, but is definately worth the watch.
The transition scenes and establishing shots used are almost surreal, director Rian Johnson really chose his locations well. The soundtrack is also really interesting and compliments the movie perfectly.
I suggest watching this more than once to fully understand everything that is going on. Overall great movie with an interesting story that leaves the audience wondering what exactly is going to happen next.
Check this movie out, it won't disappoint.
