Review of Boogie Woogie (2010) by Michael V — 14 Nov 2011
Too many actors put together in too much story told in too little time. This was just trying to hard to be witty, clever and absurd. This is a very well put together cast and Danny Huston is especially great in it.
There was just so much going on it seriously felt like it got to the point where nothing was happening. The characters cover a good range of stereotypes, somehow all end up being the same insufferably pretentious irritating unsympathetic twats.
The script reads like a check-list of cliches. All in all it is disappointing, because one look at the cast for this film and you would be forgiven for assuming that Boogie Woogie ought to be better. Maybe in better hands it would have been.
Unfortunately, a choice cast is completely wasted.
