Review of Blaze (1989) by Ashley * — 05 Jan 2008
I love this film. It transports me back to my childhood when my dad took me to Earl Long's political rally when he ran for Lt Governor against Jimmy Davis. The street and clothes and his rhetoric and body language nail Earl Long.
They play with some of the facts but capture much of the reality. I remember hearing the adults talk about his death shortly after he won the US Congressional seat. No one in the town admitted to voting for him until after he died.
Then everyone admitted that they had.
