Review of Bellflower (2011) by Alex M — 07 Jan 2012
Two friends build muscle cars and flamethrowers waiting for when they think the apocalypse is going to happen, one of the friends falls in love with a girl, and from there, everything just spirals out of control.
It's a really slow burn, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen, you just keep waiting to see what happens next. All the performances were great, loved the washed out look of the film too.
The really badass thing about this movie, is that it was shot with an insanely low budget of $17,000, and the filmmakers actually built the camera that the film was shot on, along with the cars and flamethrowers, they built everything on their own, which really gives you an appreciation for this film, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into this movie.
Indie filmmaking at it's finest right here! Highly, highly recommended! 4/5.
