Review of Beau Travail (2000) by Michael D — 29 Jul 2009
Arty film about everyday life in the foreign legion that reminded me of McQueen's recent 'Hunger' with its detached visual style. It's also a study in masculinity (ie: it's a bit gay).
It is beautifully shot and has minimal dialogue, which makes it sound dull as fuck, but it's actually compelling enough.
