Review of Beasts of No Nation (2015) by Abagofscouts — 11 Jan 2019
A great movie that really is a look into these kinds of conflicts that happen in Africa. It follows a young boy as he is going through Africa after his family killed by a ruthless faction. He runs and joins up with a militia that trains him into becoming a soldier so that he can get his revenge.
Through his travels, he sees terrible things like death and pillaging of villages where he is conflicted with his inner humanity as it slowly drifts from him. A great gritty film akin to Saving Private Ryan or Full Metal Jacket.
