Ellen Barkin's performance in this film is a major tour de force. She was at turns raw, vulnerable, tough as nails and completely mesmerizing. Favorite insult "you solipsistic f%#@!" (had to look the word up!) I also found the film's use of humor a particularly welcome relief since the subject matter is so heart wrenching.
Well worth seeing if you like well-acted dark family sagas, with a healthy dose of humor.
