Review of Anomalisa (2015) by Kelan O — 31 Mar 2016
A weird, darkly funny, unique and touching film. One that finds humor and soul crushing sadness in the mundane realities of life. That It manages to do so through the use of puppets (whilst exploring themes of hope, despair and our burning desire, yet ultimately questionable ability, to ever truly connect with others), is a true testament to the skill and artistry of all involved.
Heavy, but rewarding viewing.
